Bio: After graduating from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI, I went to MIT to study two of my passions, computer science and physics. While at MIT, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with a number of world-class research groups, developing software to study the mind, simulate quantum computers, and simulate collisions at the LHC collider in Geneva, Switzerland. I was also able to follow my more creative passions, working with the 6.370 Robocraft competition and the Theater Arts department on graphic design and photography projects.
Completing both of my degrees in 2006, I spent a summer applying my software engineering and graphic design knowledge at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, CA. When the internship was over, I decided to move back to Metro Detroit and worked as a freelance web developer, creating database-driven web applications.
After a year of freelance web development, I returned to the academic world, enrolling in an Applied Math Master's program at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, ON. While at Waterloo, I studied properties of quantum dots that may be important for building a quantum computer. I completed the program in December, 2008, and now I'm back in Michigan working as a freelance web developer, and using my tech skills to help revitalize Metro Detroit.
